Great tool
Purchased this to unblock a loo. Worked brilliant and goes easily around a 90 degree elbowsThe only issue could be is the drill connection asthis is plastic so might easily snap. But if uou are careful it should last

Snapped within 2 minutes...
When it was unwrapped the wire protruded from the sleeve by about 18 inches. Became clear within 10 seconds that you had to hold the sleeve tight to the drill or it kinked instantly. Fed it down the loo, it seemed to bend enough to get round the bends but the second my son pressed the trigger on the drill, we were using a low powered cordless one, the inner cable snapped at the drill connecter.Complete waste of money.Returned for a refund and will think twice before buying a Silverline product again!

Broken in 3 uses
Its okay. Does the job. If you compare the cost of this v/s a call out to a plumber. This does the job and saves you 50 bucks easy. Longevity though is too much to ask of it.

Think on this before use! ..SLOWER IS BETTER
I have not yet used this, having ordered it to clear a blockage that "I think" has shifted, I will use this to check shortly.I feel it important to state, plungers & augers are utilising vacuum within the system so logically to increase the vacuum (push pull of "fixes" in the early stages put your sink plugs, bath plugs, & temporarily block overflows ..all will affect the "local vacuum" ..We used soda crystals, vinegar & boiling water (be careful it can crack ceramics) to soften the blockage ((extreme)).We used 5+ full kettles of boiling water to warm the pipes & soften the compacted "matter" fats, greases etc.Soda crystals & vinegar create a fizzing action / gassing which agitates, ,,in essence the two household chemicals (which don't stink) counter each other, thus the agitation (often not explained in the various arguments as to effectiveness of "pre-auger" treatments. When ordering this, we also ordered biological enzymes which we planned to leave in the loo whilst we went away fo a week to really get into whatever was contributing to the problem & maximise our clean out of the cludgie. (long term assistance, NOT an on the spot solve it all, ..please consider this as a preventative action once you've sorted the blockage. So, the silverline kit, it gets mixed reactions on amazon, & I ordered it on the basis of the polypropylene sheating being easier to wipe clean upon retrieval compared to the normal "open spring coil" of others, ...I also own a set of "bentley blues" for cleaning my chimney & used for regular access sewer problems because they are easy to wipe down (bleached rags) so figured that the extra sheathing will be slightly stiffer allowing for better "poking" through blockages where my bailey brushes simply cannot go.Of course the sheathing also acts as a form of additional protection for the porcelain itself.Even if this only gets used a couple of times it likely pays for itself compared to the cost o a plumber call out.Ok, so a bit of logical food for thought now, regarding that drill (which you will be using with this).the rule of thumb is that a gentle breeze makes a tree branch sway far more at the far end than at the trunk) so use a bit of tape to mark a revolution of your drill & take it S-L-O-W-L-Y ..no more than a revolution every two seconds, because it will be moving a lot faster on the other end ((FLAILING)). ..hopefully this should keep it stiffer but pliable to follow the route of your drain / u bend etc, & operable with better results. What does concern me is the package arrived with a cardboard hanger stating "guaranteed forever, register online" ..I went online to the GB site for silverline & there was nothing! you may wish to take it up with them, yourselves.Storage, think this out beforehand, it needs sanitizing, so get a decent thickness PERMANENT clear storage bag (ultra touch zip-seal from art shops / a tough clipseal without holes.use disposable gloves & have some zipties to hand (& a helper suitably gloved up) or garden wre (green plastic coated to twist tie it) then stick it in a bag of bleachy water in its coiled state, drip dry after 20+ minutes & spray the metal ends x2 with a rust & water preventative lube for bikes such as GT40. then store away for next time.Take your time, take it slow, regardless of water & sewage in the bowl ..you don't want to splash yoursef nor your working environment ..it's awkward enough as it is right!?You are probing when you use this, it will hit pipe walls etc & need to be moved back & forth, slowly,Another reason to go easy is that the area attatched to the drill (3. HEX TIP) & (4, Safety clutch) are just plastic, so not being metal will not need much to wreck unless caution is taken ...well it is under a tenner. Not perfect, possibly deemed disposable after one use (modern living perception ..but not mine). ..screwfix do a similar thing for in excess of £125 at time of writing ..so this one is definitely worth a go in desperate times, just be gentle with it & don't gun that drill to anything above a crawl, remember that 7 metres further down that is whipping & writhing & flaying within its confines, you want to push through, draw back, push through & clear blockages ...not beat them to death like a ball of dough in a kitchen mixer!Good luck, & i'll update this after I've used my enzyme treatment, lifted the downstairs manhole cover & checked the system for any more problems (we are on a loop in a cul de sac, so other folks problems can become our own & therefore our toilet might be a symptom of a bigger problem ..in which case get the hosepipe out & move on the mass, alerting your water authority to a likely problem along the street, early prevention is easier to sort than a full blown fatberg!(p.s. not a plumber just a husband & wife team who think things out & tackle them ourselves).

Resolver
For an unpleasant job the casing ensures after unblocking you are debris free, unless you power the drill while it’s still connected in close proximity to your face, then there’s a high chance that any debris (and by that I mean poo) leaves the fantastic toilet unblocking gadget and finds its way towards you face. Top tip, if you do accidentally operate its when not in the toilet, keep both your month and eyes closed, even if it was you that blocked the toilet with a mammoth dump or it was one of your house hold using excess toilet paper and a back up of the house hold dumps, whatever! Keep your finger off the drill trigger!Great bit of kit. You need one. 👌🏻

Usage
I have used it once but the drill attachment keeps coming off and the wire is tangling up. Is there a fault with this product. An I swap it

It it not sturdy enough and quite frankly a complete waste of money
The feature this product provides above a standard 'sanny snake' is the ability to connect it to a low speed drill chuck, unfortunately the mechanism is absolutely rubbish, poorly assembled and thus fragile. I used mine once and it broke. If I could return it and get my money back I would but as I bought it as a useful tool when needed have only just tried it out. Do not like me assume this tool will work, it just won't.

Saved me a £1k minimum in repair works.
The blockage was under the bedroom ensuite. It would have meant a complete lifting of the floor tiles and the toilet and the floorboards to get access to the waste-pipe! I was looking at over £1k outlay. This little gizmo was fed down the waste pipe after the U-bend and I was able to clean the waste-pipe all the way to the stack. Perfect. Tip - I think the job is best done with 2 people. One driving the drill and one feeding the cleaner gradually down the waste-pipe.
