The Thermobox heat retention system consists of three pairs of flaps arranged in a consecutive spacing with magnetic closure. With a U-value of 2.2 W/(m²K), THERMOBOX is clearly different from the market wall boxes (approx. 25 W/(m²K)) and achieves an insulating effect comparable with insulation-glazed windows. In the closed system, two fully insulated air chambers are formed. A reflection layer on the inward facing first pair of flaps reduces the transmission level at the input of the system and thus prevents additional heat loss. Common wall boxes, on the other hand, have simple backflow flaps, which are not suitable for installation in the wall facade of energy-efficient or energy-refurbished house types due to their non-existing heat-insulating properties.
