School-suitable
My daughter needed a Chinese-English dictionary for her National 5 Mandarin exam, and this is the one her teacher recommended. It seems to have all the necessary content for the school requirements for this level and beyond.

Good format
I've always liked Collins dictionaries, and this one doesn't disappoint. The layout is very clear and there's a great radical index lookup system. Knocking off one star as I wish there was a pronunciation guide and/or IPA for the Chinese words.

I think it's excellent. And has classifiers for nouns on the Chinese-English ...
The only criticism I could have about this is that it should be in two volumes - it's very thick. But as a dictionary, particularly the English-Chinese half, I think it's excellent. And has classifiers for nouns on the Chinese-English side, which gets rid of a real headache for learners.Would definitely recommend!

Poor binding, pages soon fall out.
As a dictionary this book is fine, unfortunately it is let down badly by its binding. I've had it just over two months and already pages are falling out of the middle.

I cannot understand why paper like this would be used
Low quality paper (inferior to the Oxford Beginner's Chinese Dictionary). Aside from saving costs, I cannot understand why paper like this would be used...?
