The cable is adjustable in length to ensure tension can be "tuned"
It wa seasy to fit and adjust and took less than 10 minutes. I used a small philips screw driver to remove old handle and then I "taped" the end of the new cable to the old cable top---tipped up the sofa , unclipped the old cable and gently pulled the old cable out and the new cable through then undid the tape and connected the hook to the housing. Turned the sofa back on its feet and tested the pull handle to make sure the leg rest came out and went back then fitted the handle into its housing. Pretty easy job and works brilliantly.
