Exactly as expected. My four year old nephew has used the placemats to memorize all the presidents and major composers.

My kids love these placemats. We have several that are over five years old and still look brand new. They are easy to clean & help preserve the table. They are so educational and serve as good conversation topics during dinner that the whole family can partake in!

I hardly ever write reviews; however, I needed to for this item. A few days ago, my 6-year-old granddaughter and I were talking about the presidents of the United States. We already have a placemat with the presidents; however, it is outdated, last president on it is Bill Clinton. That evening, I got on Amazon in search for an updated President's placemat. The placemat I liked did not include our current president (Joe Biden); nevertheless, I ordered it. When the President's placemat arrived to my SURPRISE, it included Joe Biden! I was so excited he was included because when teaching children about presidents normally one starts with the current one.This placemat is worth every penny! It is super good quality! I bought for reference. the party affiliation is noted for each president. I would post 5 star if VP were listed. The back of the mat has interesting information. nice quality. great service.

...but this placemat was not what we used for memorizing. We used the book, "Yo, Millard Fillmore!" Yo Millard Fillmore!: (And all those other Presidents you don't know) [Paperback]This placemat was great to visualize the presidents.Each president has a black-and-white portrait, political party, and the dates of his presidency.On the back, it's also great. It lists the qualifications to run for president, the constitutional responsibilities of the president, shows the Great Seal of the United States and other symbols: the bald eagle, the Liberty Bell, the White House, the Statue of Liberty, the flag. Uncludes the lyrics to the first verse of the Star-Spangled Banner.Simply excellent.Also, easy to clean. Even messy red sauce stains come right off.

Actually got this for a senior citizen at our house, and he loves it!! He reads the names and the dates of the presidents and talks about which ones he remembers or voted for -- so don't think it's just for tots; your senior might really like this, as well, if he/she needs a plastic placemat!
